The Studio
Nestled in the heart of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Forage Community Studio is a community-focused art studio with an inclusive and collaborative space for artists of all skill levels. We specialize in hands-on workshops and session based classes in wheel thrown pottery, hand built pottery, and watercolour painting.
The Process
Forage Community Studio is in the process of opening. While we grow, we are offering private hand building workshops to local businesses, as well as kiln rentals for potters, and the occasional pottery workshop at an offsite location in town. Follow our process on Instagram!
It all Started with an Idea …
After experiencing the challenges of balancing family life with the long commute to other art spaces, Dalyce envisioned a creative hub closer to home. Dalyce called her sister, Steph, to discuss the idea of opening a creative space as a business. What started as a simple conversation about pursuing their shared passion for the arts quickly blossomed into a vision for something much bigger. As they talked, the excitement grew, and soon the idea of creating a vibrant, welcoming studio was not just a dream, but a plan they were both determined to bring to life.
However, they knew that turning this idea into a thriving business wouldn’t be possible without the right expertise. That's when they realized the key to their success would lie in the knowledge and experience that Amy, their trusted collaborator and friend of 29 years, had developed over her career in the arts and arts education.
Amy’s deep understanding of creative teaching, coupled with her ability to connect with students and nurture artistic talents, became the foundation upon which they built their vision. With her guidance and skills, Dalyce and Steph knew they had the perfect balance of creativity, passion, and expertise to make their studio not only a space but a hub for artistic growth and learning. Together, these three artistic and dedicated women are building this studio space for all to experience.
